About me.............

Hello, My name is Timeka Holloway. I am currently returning to school to receive my degree in Elementary Education. My anticpate date of graduation is Fall 11. Education is the key to success. I am becoming an educator because I want to make a difference in a child’s life. I want kids to understand that education is the key to becoming anything you want. Strive to be best in all that you do. If I can just effect one child’s life, that would be tremendous contribution to the world. Students should never perceive falling as an option. They should be motivated to succeed in everything that’s presented before them. Negative conation should be left outside the classroom. Willingness to continue to learn is an excellent pathway to success. Let the light within shine bright and never fade away. Be willing to go that extra mile to help yourself and your fellow classmate.
My Teaching Philosophy

MY TEACHER

I can remember in the sixth grade and I had this one teacher at Chastang Middle School. She was so passionate about being a teacher. She had love for all her students. She was the most demanding teacher I have ever encountered. I can remember her cracking my knuckles with a paint brush, that’s was punishment for failing exams. She pushed all her students beyond his/her means. Ms. Jones was her name. I will never forget her. She made me want to learn. She challenged inner city kids from Trinity Garden, Prichard, Whistler, and Eightmile. We were the kids that most teachers had given up on. She did not pass judgment on us because of our economic conditions or the color of our skin. She made sure that we knew she cared. I left Chastang finally understanding that education is the key to my success.

I want to be that teacher that pushes kids beyond their limits. It’s not where you come from, but it’s where you are going. And the only way to get there is through education. I want to care for my kids like Ms. Jones cared for me. I want my career to mean something at the end of the day. Making a difference that the world can see, that’s my goal in becoming an educator.
