Technology is growing everyday and I will definitely use it in my classroom. I will certainly be using it to my advantage as an educator. Google applications will be a tremendous tool in the classroom. There are so many things Google can do in the classroom. It's a free application that can used anywhere not only in the classroom but at home and the library. Google has google doc, presentation, spreadsheets and other programs that can be used. Not only will I use Google but my students will use it as well. Google will certainly bring presentation to life.
Blogging will be another aspect I will be using in my classroom. Having my students blog about various assignments and topics. What a great experience to share not only with classroom but the entire world. This will provide excellent feedback to my students. They will be able to improve on their skills with critic given from various people of the world.
I will certainly be introducing my students to podcast. They will become radio announcer without ever leaving the classroom.What great tool to use. This will make for an excellent group assignment. Not only with class, but with other students around the world. Learning about diversity without ever leaving the classroom.
Technology will provide my students to go places they can imagine. They will be able to go to China, India, and Egypt without stepping a foot out of the U.S. This will provide them with a life experience and as well as the enjoyment of learning.
Technology will always be changing. Therefore, it will be my job to always stay a step ahead of my students. If not they will certainly become the teacher and will be the student. And that will be OK with me for a very limited time only.

My Teaching Philosophy
MY STUDENTS
I will expect nothing but the best from my students. And they should expect the same from me. I want to challenge them to go beyond what they are taught in the classroom. Research their answers further than the text book. Use all of their resources, the computer, ipod, blogging, twitter, and facebook. Connect to world. I want them to take charge of their education. Never allow the classroom to place limitation on the knowledge that can be acquired from the world.
I want to install positive values in my students. I want them to believe in themselves even when the world around them has given up. Never allow the light within to burn out. Maintain positive thoughts throughout life. The past is exactly that the past. Tomorrow is a new day. Dream for tomorrow and never give up. To whom much is give much is required. You have to work at success and without an education you will never find it.

MOTIVATION
Motivation will always be a requirement as a educator. I want to motivate my students to be all they can be. After all someone motivated me. Kids will becoming from such a diverse background in the classroom. Some of them will come from broken homes, poverty, and abuse. They are being told that they can not achieve their goals. They are constantly being surrounded with failure and negative images of life. It will my job, to motivate them to rise above their circumstances. It's not where you come from but it's where you going. And what you do when you get there. Positive words can change a person entire view on life. And children are certainly no different than adults. I will speak motivational words into their lives daily. I have being told that my tongue is powerful and be careful how I use it. I will certainly use my tongue to speak life to kids that need it the most. I will not stand by and watch them become failures and a product of their environment. They will rise above those negative situations in their lives. They will become somebody one day and give back to society. With the right motivation, I can change the path of a child's life.
RESPECT
Respect is not giving easily. You have to earn respect in order to get it. I plan on doing just that. I want my students to know that respect will be a must in my classroom. They will not only respect me but their fellow classmates as well as themselves. If you do not respect yourself, you surely can not expect it from the world or any one else. Respect is very important. You can build friendship or relationship without respect. And once you lost respect, it's hard to earn it back. This will be a life long lesson that the students will use everyday of their lives.
CREATIVITY
I want to explore my students creativity. Students learn through various ways. I as an educator, I must be willing to adapt to my students learning process. I can not expect all my students to be genius in all subjects. Therefore, I must find other creative avenues to reach my students. Dance, music, and art are all creative forms of learning. It can used in math, english, science, and history. Let the kids explore and use their creative thinking to solve diffcult math equation. They can produce a production that can broadcast on youtube. This practice will allow my students become involved in their learning process. They will be having fun while learnig. What an excellent way to learn.
MY TEACHER
I can remember in the sixth grade and I had this one teacher at Chastang Middle School. She was so passionate about being a teacher. She had love for all her students. She was the most demanding teacher I have ever encountered. I can remember her cracking my knuckles with a paint brush, that’s was punishment for failing exams. She pushed all her students beyond his/her means. Ms. Jones was her name. I will never forget her. She made me want to learn. She challenged inner city kids from Trinity Garden, Prichard, Whistler, and Eightmile. We were the kids that most teachers had given up on. She did not pass judgment on us because of our economic conditions or the color of our skin. She made sure that we knew she cared. I left Chastang finally understanding that education is the key to my success.
I want to be that teacher that pushes kids beyond their limits. It’s not where you come from, but it’s where you are going. And the only way to get there is through education. I want to care for my kids like Ms. Jones cared for me. I want my career to mean something at the end of the day. Making a difference that the world can see, that’s my goal in becoming an educator.
